International Updates September 2022

First of all I want to introduce you to Valerie Boutet-Massonneau from France, she will be the International Class Secretary, we will be working together on both Senior and Y&J Classes.

We are at full throttle organising everything for the Worlds in Brest. Drop us an email if you have any questions, you can find most of the info on the event website.

– FAQ from Technical Committee ‘22:

Foils/harness/impact vest clarifications, if you need to make any questions or inform repairs please write to technical@iqfoilclass.org.

– Updates Racing Policies ’22:

This document is an evolution of our first document published in ’20. It has all the updates that we have been implementing at our events and a more structured cancelation policy. It is in line with what WS has approved for the Games.

– Race Management Guideline ’22

This document is a Guideline for Race Directors on how to run iQFOiL Events.

After this weekend event in The Hague, we have seen the importance of having at least one of our experts at the WS events and off course making sure that the RO that WS allocates to the events are up to speed with the Class.

A meeting with WS has been already asked to discuss this event and future WS events.

For the Worlds we will have the same International crew we had at the Europeans in Torbole.

We have gone further in using the tracking and info that Sailmon provided at the Y&J Worlds and it was great help to call of OCS and to speed up the process. We are looking at having it at the worlds too.

Events ‘22’23’24:

A provisional Calendar has been posted for ’23 and ’24 so you can plan ahead of time.

For the end of the ‘22 year we have the Azores iQFOiL Games in November, with price money, Nor and Website coming up early this week.

The Europeans ’23 will be held on Greece (May) and the WS Worlds ’23 in The Hague (Aug) as you all know this will be the first qualifier for the Games.

The Worlds ’24 will be in Lanzarote in late January early February and that will be the qualifier for the European countries for the Games. The European Championships ’24 will be left to the second half of the year.

For the other qualifiers for the Games we are waiting for confirmation from WS.
